Burha Pahar one of the last rendezvous of the CPI Maoists is no longer invincible for them. Security forces carried out their military strikes there on the Burha Pahar in the last week of June dismantling Maoists’ all impenetrable belief of their remaining untouchable, invincible and impregnable on Burha Pahar. Security forces ‘opened’ this Pahar much to the tactical and strategical loss to the Maoists.
Sources said a column of just 120 jawans and officials led by two SPs Garhwa Shivani Tiwari and latehar Parshant Anand dented the ‘myth’ of the Maoists on the Burha Pahar that it is ‘out of reach’ for the security forces. Security forces did all here launching of mortar to discriminate firing all to tell the Pahar Maoists that time for them has started running out.
Confirming this assault of the security forces on the Burha Pahar Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwari said on Thursday, “Our brave boys not only took the pahar Maoists by surprise when it invaded the pahar but also outwitted them there in every aspect of this long drawn warfare there.”
Burha Pahar remains in news for two things presence of Maoists and various coded Operations against them. One DGP of Jharkhand Rajiv Kumar had even stood on this pahar in search of then alive Arvind ji for hours there while the Maoist top gun Arvind ji by then had sneaked into Chhatisgarh.
Operations against Maoists here on Burha Pahar have been going on since 2016 or much before that but this June the Maoists had the taste of fire power more than ever. Security forces used to pitch camps waiting for Maoists at every conceivable point like Madgari, Karamdeeh, latu, Turer, Tumer etc during its day long, week long and month long operations here in the past but this invasion has given a tremendous shock to the pahar Maoists.
In sheer anger of their getting exposed and opened by security forces when boots of 120 jawans and officials trampled the Burha Pahar the Maoists tried their tested device the land mines at Khapree Mahua down the ground taking a toll of 6 jawans.
Commenting upon this Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwari said, “We did suffer a loss of our six brave hearts. Four others of us got injured. The Maoists triggered 15 to 20 land mine explosions. But we were far more in numbers then. Had our boys were not alert and cautious the number of fatalities here could have been far more.”
She said in the same vein “On Wednesday July 4 our security forces retrieved 15 land mines each weighing between one to one and a half Kg which were neutralized in situ position.” These improvised explosive devices were 6 to 7 months old laid she said.
She said, “This is a ding dong battle where Maoists by deception killed our 6 but our security forces gave them more a psychological dread that Maoists will now find hard to brush it off.”
