The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State Unit welcomed and applauded warmly the Interim Budget 2019 tabled by acting Union Finance Minister (FM), Piyush Goyal on Friday and termed it as budget for all sections of people.

While praising the FM’s effort State BJP Chief, Laxman Gilua said the State BJP unit is congratulates the Prime Minister and pays gratitude for tabling such an excellent budget with an attempt to provide space for all section of people.

“It is comparative analysis of 60 years against 5 years of corruption free rule. It is a budget to materialize all possibilities. The budget is to uplift poor classes and development for all,” he added.

Speaking on the Budget 2019, former Chief Minister, Arjun Munda said,

The FM tabled this budget with a view to keep in mind all section of people of the society. “The FM tried to bring under mainstream development to all section of people including farmers, youths, women villagers, and middle class through the budget.” he added.

State BJP spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said the interim budget is historic budget in several ways by the Central government.

“Goyal has given full tax exemption to taxpayers with an annual income of up to Rs 5 lakh. This will benefit directly 30 million people,” he added.

Praising the Budget, Shahdeo said, “Apart from this, there are many more positive things in the budget. If someone’s income is Rs 6.50 lakh, one also don’t have to pay income tax if he has invested in provident fund, special savings, insurance and LIC.

This will benefit about 30 million tax payers of the middle class, including small businessmen, salaried, pensioners and senior citizens of the country, with a profit of Rs 18,500 crore.”

Shahdeo said that according to the announcement of the FM, standard deduction for salaried workers has been increased from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. “Not a single Government had shown courage to do this. It will provide an additional tax benefit to 3 crore salaried and pensioners of Rs 4,700 crore,” he added.

While commenting on special features of the budget Shahdeo said, “The budget is providing special care to low income people.

It can be assumed that the TDS limit has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000 on the interest received on the deposits in the bank and post office.

This will give direct benefits to small savings and non-working people. In order to give relief to small taxpayers, making another bold decision, the TDS limit has been increased from Rs 1,80,000 to Rs 2,40,000 for tax deduction. This is commendable in itself. The FM has given exemption from the income tax levied on the estimated rent of his occupied second house.

This exemption was not given by any previous Government.

If a person has more than one house then he had to pay an income tax before the estimated rent, which has now been removed.”
