Bokaro Steel Plant (BSl) is on ‘green’ drive to increase green cover inside the plant and its periphery areas. On this move, hundreds of saplings were planted at RMHP department in the plant premises on Tuesday.
The ED (Works) of BSl S K Singh along with officials planted hundreds of saplings inside the plant premises. “A massive forestation drive of about two lakhs saplings over 200 acres of land by CSR is on the cards”, said BSl PR official.
The CSR department of BSl has taken this mission upon itself to increase the green cover in the periphery with the help of Forest department, the plantation drive will continue till 10 August, an official said. Our opinion is “wherever there is land, there should be greenery”, added the official.
Earlier CEO of BSl P K Singh along with officials planted thousands of saplings at HRD centers and other locations with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the district forest department has set a target to plant more than 10 lakhs saplings on hills, roadsides and degraded forest land in this monsoon. The CEO of BSl said further that this will create a soothing impact on the safety and preservation of environment.
