The SMS- New team of Bokaro Steel Plant has now set a new record by casting 24 heats continuously by a single DVM Tundish. Earlier, the team of SMS-New had set a record by casting 22 heats continuously in the recent past.
Executive Director (Projects) R Kushwaha and Executive Director (Works) Atanu Bhowmik met the employees of SMS- New and congratulated them on this achievement. Led by CGM (SMS-New) MR Gupta and under the guidance of GM A Jamiyar, GM SK Jha, GM A Mundu, GM MK Haldar, B Dutta & VC Reddy (SMS-1, the team of Assistant General Manager SK Chidar, Manager Shashi Bhushan Siddharth and Deputy Manager Santosh Kumar has achieved this success by increasing the casting speed and improving the Tundish life through continuous concerted efforts while simultaneously controlling super heat.
It is noteworthy that the first slab from SMS-New was cast on 27 January 2021. With the introduction of this state-of-the art slab casters in SMS-New of BSL, the steel production at Bokaro Steel Plant is now 100 per cent through slab route, which is superior in all quality parameters and more energy efficient.
