On March 6, 2025, the newly renovated Tippler No. 03 at the Raw Material Handling Plant (RMHP) department of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) was inaugurated by Executive Director (Works) C.R. Mahapatra. The event was attended by Chief General Manager (RMHP) Dhananjay Kumar, Chief General Manager (Services) P.K. Baisakhia, Chief General Manager (Mechanical) Prakash Tiwari, Chief General Manager (Sinter Plant) Pitambar Chaudhary, Chief General Manager (CED) Shaligram Singh, Chief General Manager (Shops) J.V. Shekhar, along with senior executives and contract workers of the RMHP department.

With the inauguration, Tippler No. 03 has now resumed smooth and safe operations. The RMHP department utilizes five tipplers to handle coal and other raw materials essential for steel production, including iron ore, limestone, dolomite, pellets, and sinter. These materials are transported via railway wagons, unloaded into hoppers through tipplers, and then blended and stacked before being conveyed to the blast furnace, sinter plant, or RMHP as per requirements.

In January 2025, RMHP set a new record by dispatching 10,18,791 tons of raw materials. Tippler No. 03 was taken offline for capital repairs on February 10, 2025. The renovation was successfully completed through coordinated efforts of RMHP’s mechanical, electrical, and operations teams, along with BSL’s general maintenance, heavy maintenance, traffic, and civil engineering departments, allowing operations to resume on March 6, 2025.
