For Bokaro Steel Plant (BSl), cashless mode of the transaction has always been the preferred way of doing business. With a near hundred percent cashless payment mode already in place, said a BSl PR official adding “efforts are now on to facilitate all receipts through cashless mode as well”.
An apex committee constituted for this purpose has set the process rolling to achieve this target in all transactions of BSl, he said.
Notably, BSl has already been making all its payments, including payment of wages to employees through cashless mode. Going a step further, efforts are now on for switching over to a cashless receipt environment by the installation of PoS machines in the identified areas.
This initiative is intended to facilitate cashless payments through Debit, Credit & Pre-Paid Cards in the hospital by non-entitled patients, payments against some services rendered by the Town Administration, Sports and Civic Amenities as well as Horticulture department, purchase of tickets in JNB Park, library and Bokaro Niwas, said the official.
In line with the Government’s campaign for promoting cashless transactions, Bokaro Steel is fully committed towards achieving the goal within its sphere of activities. Awareness workshops are also being conducted for sensitising all concerned for ushering in a cashless transaction environment, said the official.
