BSF jawan's erratic behaviour leads to 2 FIRs in Latehar

A BSF jawan on leave wrote a bad script for himself and for the minority community in two  nondescript villages Labherpur and Nindir under Latehar district.

According to the officer in charge of the Latehar police station Amit Gupta the ugly incident is of this Sunday evening when a dead drunk BSF jawan Pramod Yadav and his civilian friend Manoj Kumar created unruly scenes totally unwarranted and avoidable.

Gupta said we had to work hard till late Sunday night to keep peace and harmony all intact there and it was maintained.

Gupta said the inebriated BSF jawan accompanied by his civilian friend Manoj began intimidating a few Muslim vendors asking for their Aadhar card etc which these vendors strongly resisted and bandied words with the BSF jawan.

It led to an altercation between the two in which fisticuffs were enormously used where the BSF jawan was thrashed while he also thrashed a member of the minority community.

Gupta said the fracas broke out at two villages Labherpur and Nindir the same Sunday evening by the same contingent of the people later joined by others.

Sources said very soon things went viral about the Muslims beating up a BSF jawan and there were many takers for it. Social media got agog with it, said sources.

However sources said OC Latehar Amit Gupta and his team played quite swiftly and neutrally otherwise this could have taken any other turn. Gupta said two FIRs one each by both the sides have been lodged with the Latehar police station.

One Mukhtar Ansari has named only Pramod Yadav the BSF jawan for assaulting him and hurting his hands. The BSF jawan has in his FIR named accused 14 people of mobbing him and thrashing him. Gupta said police have begun its investigation in a very professional manner.
