BSF jawan Santosh Singh and two others have been remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday July 28 following a case registered with Paton police station on July 27 against them.

Sources said a lady activist made a tweet to CM Hemant Soren about an incident at Sikki Kala village under Paton police station, following which IG Navin Kumar Singh directed SP Palamu Ajay Linda to see what the matter was all about.

Sources said SDPO Sadar Sandip KumarGupta and his team nabbed the BSF Jawan and next morning July 28 two others were arrested.

Sources said CM Hemant Soren in his tweet to DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan directed DC to provide tribal widow with necessary governmental aid and also to ensure stringent action is taken against the offenders.

Ranjan put in his BDO Paton P Mirdha to visit the house of the tribal widow where this official noted down the help that this family needs.

Linda said, “Two tribal families at Sikki Kala had a brawl. It was over an alleged incident of eve teasing and passing of abusive and dirty comments. The tribal family of Lalita Kuarn accused Shanti Devi’s son, a BSF jawan and others of eve teasing and dirty comments on one of her two daughters.”

Linda said, “The two families shouted at each other. It elbowed and jostled too. It pushed and dragged each other too.”

Gupta said the BSF jawan’s mother was the first to lodge a case with Paton police against the tribal widow, her two daughters and two more others where jawan’s mother accused them of assault and heaping of abuses on them.

Gupta said thereafter the tribal widow too lodged her FIR against BSF jawan, his mother, two women and two named males besides 56 other unidentified people.

Paton police have registered both the FIRs and intensive investigation is on.

Sources said these two tribal families are neighbours of each other but are never at peace.
