Annual Cultural Programme at PAS Bokaro

Loyola student shines at National Chess Event
Jamshedpur: Adhiraj Mitra, a Class VII student of Loyola School, secured the silver medal in the U-14 Boys category at the prestigious CISCE National Chess Championship 2024. The young chess prodigy scored an impressive 6.5 points out of 8, remaining unbeaten, a feat that highlights his sharp tactical skills and growing maturity in the game. Adhiraj is the only player from Jharkhand to clinch a medal at the national level in recent years, making his achievement all the more significant. Last year, he had bagged a silver medal at a similar national competition, solidifying his reputation as a consistent and determined player.
RBI celebrates its 90th anniversary
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is commemorating the 90th year of its operations this year on Monday. As part of the series of events being held throughout the year to mark this milestone, the Bank has launched the RBI90Quiz, a nationwide general knowledge-based quiz competition aimed at undergraduate students. The State-level round of the RBI90Quiz for Jharkhand was conducted at Holiday Home, Kanke Road, Ranchi, where 140 students and 70 teams competed. The team from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (NIT, Jamshedpur) comprising Tarun Anand and Divyanshu Kumar emerged as the winner, followed by those from Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad (IIT, Dhanbad) and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi (IIIT, Ranchi) in second and third places, respectively. Prizes for the top three teams are of Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh, and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.
