The mystery of the girl who was allegedly raped and killed has apparently made some progress as the victim has been identified by the police.
The girl said to be about 18-year-old is the resident of the area, Dwarkapuri, which is incidentally the locality where her disfigured body was recovered on Thursday. “The body has been identified. The girl is from Dwarkapuri. Her parents came forward after hearing about an unidentified body and recognized the girl,” said Chutia police station in-charge, Vijay Kumar Singh. According to police, the girl had reportedly gone missing on December 17 after she went out for some work. However, no report of missing was filed with the police and no named complaint was registered by the parents of the victim even after identifying the dead body to be their daughter.
“They have not registered any named FIR after identifying their body. No arrest has been made as the body has just been recognized. We are pursuing the case and I have not seen the postmortem report,” added Singh. The body was spotted in the morning of December 18 from the area with face disfigured and bearing deep injury marks all over the body. While the postmortem report is still awaited police officials have not ruled out rape before slaying the women. The body was lying at a nearby under-construction building in Dwarkapuri under Chutia PS. A number of items were collected from the crime scene which included bottles of liquor, stone that was allegedly used to deface the victim and blood samples found at the spot.
