Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Friday directed all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to take precautionary measures in the wake of the weather forecast of Western Disturbance and heavy showers and speeding winds, with extensive hailstones in the State from April 24 to 27. Gauba passed directions to the DCs through video conferencing on Friday. The CS also directed them to provide immediate relief to those farmers who have been adversely affected by heavy rains and lightning. He asked them to send the proposal for compensation according to the new rates. Gauba also directed the DCs to set up emergency operation centres in the collectorate with the help of Disaster Management Department.
