Boycott dowry seekers, givers: CM

Published on:

Chief Minister Raghubar Das called for the boycott of dowry seekers including the givers in order to eradicate the prominent evil practice from the society.

“The society will have to unite against social evils especially dowry. The members of all society must take a pledge that there will be no dowry deal among them. Those who take dowry or give dowry should be boycotted from the society,” the CM said.

The CM during the event organised by ‘Jharkhand State—Keshrwani Vaishya Mahasammelan’  here on Sunday further urged to the public to aid underprivileged people for the creation of equitable society, free from all social evils.

In a bid to link the poor people with numerous government schemes, the CM asked the educated class to lead from the front and spread the message about the government’s intention even to the last person of the society.

“Only with the support of each other, social evils can be eradicated easily. Keshrwani society is a much awakened society.

Educated people must prepare a list of the poor people of the section and include them in different Government schemes. By imparting training through skill development, the government will connect poor with employment. This will improve their quality of life,” said the CM.

Expressing his concern about the social progress of the underprivileged groups, the CM said that there are many districts in the State where backward people are still kept aloof of getting the facilities entitled to them by the Constitution of India.

“Our Government is committed to bring poor in main domain by giving them their rights. Send the demands of Keshrwani society to the Backward Commission. The recommendations given by the Commission will be stringently followed.  Keshrwani society will be given its right,” the CM further asserted.

The CM called upon the people of the society to give education to children and said that attempts must be made by the members of society to achieve 100 percent literacy without making any discrimination between boys and girls.

The CM further added that the State Government is working on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that says ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikash’. “All attempts are being taken to empower women and marginalised class. Jharkhand is the first State in the country where the Government has given facility to women to get the registry done in just Rs one,” the CM said.

Minister, Department of Urban Development, CP Singh, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, President of All India Keshrwani Vaishya Mahasabha, Rajiv Gupta, President Sunita Ganesh Keshwani, President of Tarun Sabha  Abhishek Keshwani, Jharkhand State President Prof. Prem Sagar Kesari  and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
