Authors Shakti Vrat and Sanjeev Shekhar believe that journalism is a profession that covers all important stakeholders of society, impacts the social set-up in good and bad ways.
However in the view of the scribes, the visible face of journalism is full of glamour and excitement it generates among the common masses which defies the perils and hardship journalists go through while doing their job.
The tumultuous journey and hazards of the profession inspired them to delve into the lives of journalists that are less known to a common man.
The book has been published in English and Hindi language. “BEYOND NEWS” (published by Partridge India, a Penguin House), while the Hindi edition has been published by Delhi based prominent publisher, Vishwa Hindi Sahitya Parishad.
The story depicts lives of three journalist friends who take their profession as a mission. They work around the clock to excel in their career. The story revolves around them; chronicling how they throw light into the lives of the journalists, professionally and personally.
They try to show the way to young generations who want to tread the path of honesty and sincerity and are unwilling to sacrifice their dignity for the sake of a job. The novel speaks about human emotions explicitly that grips the readers throughout.
