Cricket and music lovers in Jharkhand set to get a double bonanza this fortnight with Bollywood biggies and music monarchs. As the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is all geared up to take the entertainment-quotient of spectators to fervid heights in the upcoming T20 Champions' league matches, Vishal-Shekhar duo and Sonu Nigam have been roped in for a live performance to enthrall the cricket fans gathered for the two T20 matches in Ranchi.
Immensely popular music composers, Vishal-Shekhar have consented to perform on the 22nd September. likewise, Sonu Nigam, the vibrant singer is set to rock the crowd in the interval between the matches played on 28th Sept.
JSCA Vice President Sanjay Singh, ecstatic over the new arrangement said, "Indeed, we have received a confirmation from the music stars, Vishal-Shekhar and Sonu Nigam who have given their nod for a live music concert on 22nd and 28th September, respectively. The duration of musical performance will be around half-an-hour. Our prime focus is cricket and these add-on entertainment is an attempt to pep-up the audiences sitting for prolonged hours all through the two matches covering evening and extending into the night as well."
Till date more than 18,000 tickets have been sold. The sale of tickets is likely to increase once the news of star performances become viral. The authorities, to maintain the prominence of T20 matches have deliberately scaled down the advertisement of musical gig ultimately resulting in depriving the ardent fans from having a glimpse of the famed singers.
Meanwhile, a big contingent of cricket players of participating teams have alighted at the state capital and are swarming the JSCA stadium at Dhurwa for net-practice sessions. The qualifiers, Sunrise Hyderabad team are due to reach Ranchi on 23rd September.
