Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has taken a significant step toward energy efficiency by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) on January 16. Under a pilot study, four faulty motors in the Raw Material Handling Plant (RMHP) were replaced with energy-efficient motors, resulting in substantial energy savings over two years.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Executive Director (Works) C.R. Mahapatra, aims to replace outdated systems and adopt advanced energy technologies like IE3/IE4 motors. Mahapatra emphasized the initiative’s role in driving energy management and efficiency at BSL.
EESL’s Group ED (P&B&D), Venkatesh Dwivedi, shared insights on super-efficient motors and their impact on India’s MSME sector via video conferencing. Chief GM (Electrical) D. Sarkar expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its potential for long-term success.
The event, coordinated by Senior Manager (C&A) Nidhi, concluded with Ashish Sharma, Deputy GM (Tech) at EESL, delivering the vote of thanks. This partnership reinforces BSL’s commitment to sustainable and efficient operations.
