Bokaro Steel Plant (BSl) observed January 24 as SAIl Day with a lot of fervour and enthusiasm. In line with the tradition followed every year, the highlight of the SAIl Day programme was the SAIl Day run was organised in the morning at the Mohan Kumarmangalam Stadium.
The run was flagged-off by Bokaro Steel CEO Anutosh Maitra in the presence of DIG (CISF) Shrikant Kishore, Executive Directors, and General Managers, senior officials of the plant and a large gathering of fitness enthusiasts.
Maitra also administered the SAIl Day oath to the gathering and witnessed march past by students of various BSl schools.
The 5-km-long race which started from the stadium and followed a pre-defined route through the city was organised in different categories for boys and girls. On the other hand, senior officers also participated in the run within the stadium. In other categories, ladies, senior citizens and ex-employees also participated in the run.
In all, almost 600 fitness enthusiasts from various age groups participated in the SAIl Day Run. During the SAIl Day function in the stadium, Maitra also felicitated two cadets of SAIl Day Boarding Archery Academy for their outstanding performance in the National School Games held recently.
