Bokaro police have once again demonstrated their efficiency and commitment to law enforcement by swiftly solving a major jewelry theft case. The burglary, which took place on March 1, 2025, near Ram Mandir, involved the theft of gold and silver ornaments worth ₹20-22 lakh from Jagdamaba Jewellers.
Upon receiving the complaint from shop owner Sanjay Kumar Verma, B.S. City police immediately registered the case and launched an investigation. Under the leadership of Bokaro SP Manoj Swargiyari and City DSP Alok Ranjan, a special SIT was formed, which meticulously analyzed technical evidence and intelligence inputs. Their diligent efforts led to the arrest of Sonu Kumar, a resident of Sector 11, who confessed to the crime.
Sonu revealed that he had lost 9 lakh in an online game and, in desperation, planned the burglary. He conducted reconnaissance of the jewelry shop and hid inside a nearby fruit shop to execute the theft at the right moment.
Police successfully recovered all stolen jewelry, including silver plates, trays, bowls, and other valuables. The accused has a history of criminal activities, with prior cases registered at sector 4 and B.S. City police stations.
The prompt action and strategic investigation by Bokaro police in solving this high-value theft deserve appreciation. Their efficiency in recovering stolen goods and bringing the accused to justice reinforces public confidence in law enforcement.
