Bokaro District Congress President Umesh Prasad Gupta visited the Bokaro District Agriculture Officer's office to emphasize the need for a focused agricultural work plan. He stressed that no farmer in Bokaro district should be deprived of benefits.
During the visit, Gupta highlighted the importance of the Jharkhand Loan Waiver Scheme and insisted that all farmers in Bokaro district receive 100% benefits. He directed the District Agriculture Officer to prepare agricultural work plans for all blocks, villages, and panchayats, particularly focusing on completing the EKYC process for farmers who have been left out of the scheme through camps organized by agricultural friends. This ensures that no farmer misses out on the benefits.
The current Jharkhand government has initiated the Jharkhand Loan Waiver Scheme to support farmers. Under this scheme, agricultural loans of up to ₹50,000 are waived. Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, in the 2024-25 budget session, announced an increase in the loan waiver amount from ₹50,000 to Rs 2 lakh.
