Tension mounted at Sarladih village with recovery of the body of one woman from a well on Thursday morning. A 25-year-old woman, later identified as Nirmala Devi, wife of Suresh Yadav, was recovered by Gawa police of Giridh district when it was spotted by the local villagers. Nirmala Devi was reported missing since Tuesday night .
The reason for the death is yet to be ascertained. However, her father Permeshwar Yadav, alleged that her in-laws had killed his daughter Nirmala and threw her body in the well near the village.
Sufficient dowry was given to the bridegroom at the time of marriage, the victim’s father said. But her greedy in-laws put pressure on her to bring more money. As the parents of the victim could not meet the demand, she was tortured. The in-laws were particularly sore for not brining motorcycle and others goods.
The victim’s father said that one of the villager rushed to his house and informed about the
incident. The in-laws and husband are absconding. There was no external injury marks on the
deceased body .
