A herd of blue bulls (Nilgai) has trampled a 45 year old farmer Nawal Yadav to death in Palamu’s Pandu. The animals pounced upon Yadav who was crushed and bled immensely which proved fatal for him. The victim remained un-attended in the field for hours before medical assistance could be given but by then it was too late as he had died.
Sources said Yadav had recently come home from Indore and sadly his daughter was to be married soon. The man was going to his field in village Dala kalan under Pandu police station where he came across the herd which took his life.
Officer in charge of Pandu police station Vijay Singh Chowdhury confirming this death of Yadav said, "It is very unheard of but it has so happened tragically for the Yadav family as the deceased had bled too much from his mouth which meant the blue bulls had targeted his face the most."
The body was sent for postmortem. Villagers say this is the first case of its kind where a blue bull herd has killed an adult person.
Herds of blue bulls found grazing in the fields in the area often destroying crops. BDO Pandu said that all possible help to the aggrieved family would be provided.
