In-charge of Congress affairs in Jharkhand BK Hariprasad arrived here on Friday evening to take part in Congress' Chaibasa conference. The divisional conference, one in the line of many such planned to improve party's support base, is slated to take place on Saturday.
Hariprasad would also have to look into the issues not allowing the governance a smooth affair in the State. The "Coordination Committee", formed to oversee proper implementation of the 'common agenda for governance' has been one-sided affair with no other names apart from the Congress' coming forward.
"There are several issues and making the Coordination Committee functional is the most important one. I have talked to the Chief Minister on this issue today also. He is also worried. The matter would be discussed with the in-charge," said Sukhdeo Bhagat.
The Chaibasa conference, the party hopes, would resurrect the support base and win more seats for the Congress in the forthcoming lok Sabha and Assembly polls. Array of leaders such as Subodh Kant Sahay, Pradeep Balmuchu besides ministers in the present Government would participate to infuse enthusiasm among workers coming from East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
"We expect good response from the voters in the area. let's see what happens," added Bhagat. By bringing host of big leaders at one place the party wants to send out a strong message about unity and also propagate policies of the UPA Government at the Centre.
