Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday called on the party officials at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi and had a brief discussions with them on the issues related to organisational structure, ongoing membership drive and other party related matters. BJP State general secretary, Rajendra Singh, on the occasion claimed that Jharkhand and Bihar together will easily achieve the target of making over one crore members.
“Membership drive in the State is being conducted smoothly and according to the last data of making 43,26,811 members already achieved a few weeks back, we will easily achieve the target of making 50 lakh members in Jharkhand Before May 1,” said Rajendra Singh. Jharkhand and Bihar together will achieve a target of making 1 crore members, he claimed.
Singh however said that CM’s visit to the office was just a courtesy call where he separately met Samir Oraon, Ashok Bhagat, Rejendara Kesri, Prem Mittal along with him and had discussion with several issues including the ongoing membership drive.
Referring to the ongoing drive Singh said that the efforts are being made to do it in a scientific way by making it more authentic leaving no scope for any loopholes in it. “After making them party members, party workers will now start ‘Karyakarta Sampark Samwaad’ contacting those who have given missed call and have accepted the party membership asking them to make a miss call again on another toll free number to authenticate that they have accepting that they have become the party workers,” said Singh.
The Karyakarty Sampark Samvaad was already been done in Delhi which will not be conducted in the states, he said. The workers under this drive will also inform them about policies and progammes of the party making them aware about the party activities. Before that a day-long workshop will be conducted in Ranchi for the party officials and workers to train them ‘Samvaad’.
Party’s national president Amit Shah, in order to give a boost to the ongoing membership drive, had also addressed the party cadres during a worker’s conference on April 11 this year so that fresh energy could be pumped into the party workers making it easier for them to achieve the target. BJP which earlier had only 6.5 lakh workers in the State, according to the party sources has crossed the figure of over 43 lakh.
