A young BJP worker Dipu Gupta was shot dead in Panki on Monday evening. Another pedestrian was also hurt in the shoot out. SP Palamu Sanjeev Kumar has confirmed the incident.
BJP MLA Shashibhushan Mehta said the killers are said to have come on bike who fired shots at Gupta who was in a shop in Panki.
The MLA said his party worker was shot at thrice as told by the locals there. Mehta said the killers fired at him even when he was dead there on the spot.
Mehta said police in Panki have failed to enforce law and order. He asked SP Palamu to look into this crime.
However the state government has transferred Sanjeev Kumar SP Palamu to Dhanbad today. The MLA said the BJP worker was rushed to MMCH in Daltonganj where he was declared brought dead.
The injured Ansari is also in the MMCH Daltonganj.
Police are on the hunt of the killers.
Sources said the way this BJP worker was done to death smacked of deep seated revenge.
