Bharatiya Janata Party's state president and MP Deepak Prakash has welcomed JMM's formal announcement of supporting NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. He said that this is the first time after the country's independence that a tribal woman has been made the presidential candidate. Prakash said that for the first time a member of the 12 crore tribal society has been made a candidate for the post of President. Draupadi Murmu has an old relationship with Jharkhand. Leader of the Legislature Party and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi also welcomed the support extended by JMM. He said that while honouring the tribal pride, JMM's announcement of support to NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu ji is in the interest of the nation. He said that if this decision was taken in advance without delay, a better message would have been sent to the entire country.
