BJP trying to destabilise Govt: Oraon

Published on:

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Monday attacked Bharatiya

Janata Party (BJP) for trying to destabilise Chief Minister (CM), Hemant Soren led

JMM Congress coalition Government in the State and it also said that BJP is

creating confusion in the mind of people on CM’s mining issue.

Talking to media persons former JPCC Chief and Finance Minister in the State

Government, Rameshwar Oraon said that BJP has no issues to talk about, they

have failed in providing employment and rising inflation. People of the Country

are in very distress but BJP is always trying to raise futile issues to divert people's

mind from real issues, he added.

“Already it is said that the Chief Minister returned the mines before assuming his

office of Chief Minister then where it is an issue of getting unwanted advantage of

the office of profit. This is only an effort to create uproar and destabilise the

popular Government and nothing else. But the Congress Party is completely with

the CM and the opposition’s conspiracy will fail in the State.

Addressing a press meet, Senior Congress Leaders, Alok Kumar Dubey and Rajesh

Gupta jointly said that BJP is using the mines lease case as a weapon. “Article 192

of the Constitution is in great discussion now and this is because the Governor,

using the power derived from this Article of the Constitution, has taken action to

seek the opinion of the CM mining lease case,” they added.

Dubey quoted Article 192 and said that it is clear what the five conditions for

disqualification of the Government are. “The points regarding holding of office,

state of insolvency, being so disqualified by or under any law made by Parliament

or under any law are clear. It is necessary to see whether Soren's mines lease case

falls within the purview of the five conditions defined in Article 191(1). Whether

the CM has mentioned the Mines Lease issue in his election affidavit or not, these

things have to be seen. It is expected that the Governor will take the legal decision

in a fair manner and the ill-fated efforts of BJP will never succeed,” he added.

Gupta said that the BJP is now trying to stabilize an elected coalition government

by using non-democratic means. The reality is that the case of mine lease does not

come under the supply of goods category nor does it come under contract workers.

In this case, the People's Representation Act does not apply.
