A review meeting of top BJP leaders was held in Khunti ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to take place on October 2. Modi will be visiting Khunti to inaugurate 180 KW roof top Solar Power Plant involving `2.21 crore, set up at the District Court in Khunti. The idea to run the entire court on solar energy was conceived by Jharkhand High Court Justice D.N. Patel, who initiated it while he was acting Chief Justice in 2014.

During the meeting a decision was taken to make the programme a success by gathering a huge crowd during the programme. District wing of BJP has already started organising various meetings and rallies appealing people to attend the programme in large numbers.

“A review meeting attended by senior party leaders including Chief Minister Arjun Munda and Union Minister and lohardaga MP Sudarshan Bhagat along with the other leaders and a unanimous decision was taken to make it a grand success,” said district media in charge of Khunti luv Chaudhary.

As many as 20,000 vehicles have already been booked in Khunti district itself to facilitate people who want to hear Modi ji, added Chaudhary.

“An appeal has been made by the people to take their positions by 9 am one hour ahead of the programme as we are expecting a huge crowd to take part in the Rally,” Chaudhary added.

State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda has been appointed in-charge of the entire programme by the state government while Pradesh Mantri Pradeep Verma and Additional State Media in charge Arun Chandra Gupta have been given responsibility to head the team for making arrangements for the programme, informed Chaudhary.

Other top leaders who attended the meeting also include Minister of State for Rural Development Sudarshan Bhagat, former CM Arjun Munda, Jharkhand State BJP president Ravindra Rai, State Urban Development Minister CP Singh, and Ranchi Mayor Asha lakra.

As many as 720 solar panels have been put up on the roof of the court and its premises to trap energy from the sun’s rays. The solar power would be stored in batteries from where it would be diverted to various points.

Although, the Solar Plant is capable of producing 180KW of power only 64 KW would be utilized for the purpose of running the court. While the remaining 116 KW of surplus power would be made available for others to consume it as deemed fit by Government.
