State BJP unit has decided to start agitation against the Hemant Soren led government stating that people feel cheated as the government failed to deliver its promises.

The decision for the agitation was taken during the marathon meeting held on Thursday at the party headquarters. Party’s State co-in-charge Subhas Sarkar, State president Deepak Prakash, party senior Babulal Marandi, besides presidents of district units and other senior leaders of the party attended the meeting.

“JMM-Congress-RJD government headed by Hemant Soren is a classic example of how public mandate can be cheated. The 11 months rule of this government is a complete failure. The government has shown no sign of fulfilling its promises. As a responsible opposition the BJP is duty bound to question and expose the government,” State spokesperson Pradeep Sinha said.

The agitation is set to start anytime in December. Sources in the BJP, who attended the meeting said that the silence of the government over the issue of giving sustenance amount to unemployed educated youths of government will be the issue.

Notably, during the Assembly election the UPA combine had promised a sustenance amount to unemployed youths.

The illegal mining and black-marketing of sand is going to be another issue for the agitation. On October 15 the National Green Tribunal lifted a ban on sand mining on the riverbeds. But the government so far has not started the process for auction of balughats. Mining mafias and middlemen are illegally carrying mining and selling it at high cost. The BJP has charged mining mafias to have the protection of the government.

The party alleged the government is systematically paralyzing the Panchayati Raj institutions. There are as many as five urban bodies where election is due from the past six months. It has resulted in the power of these urban bodies vested in the government.

Similarly, the Panchayat election is due in December. But the government has not taken any step to start the polling process. The BJP alleged the government wants to usurp the power of Panchayats by not conducting elections.
