Deeply concerned over the deteriorating law and order situation in Jharkhand, state BJP has decided to raise the matter during Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit on September 23. Two incidents of crime took place within 12 hours on Thursday – murder of businessman Pawan Agrawal and a robbery of Rs5.5 lakh from a patrol pump in Ranchi.
“As the situation across the state is worsening day by day, the issue of deteriorating law and order will be raised before the Union Home Minister during his visit to Ranchi,” said senior BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maroo.
The party leaders are also planning to launch statewide protest within a week and the issue with will be taken to Governor Syed Ahmed requesting him to take action against the State Government.
Despite the assurances given by the state police that regular patrolling was done by the patrolling party, such cases are increasing day-by-day, it also puts a question mark on the top police officials who are monitoring the law and order situation in the State, Maroo added.
The party condemning the murder of Businessman Pawan Agrawal has said that the incident clearly indicates that the morale of the criminals is high in the state who are not afraid of the police. “Policemen are busy in taking bribe from the auto drivers, street vendors and two wheeler riders,” said BJP spokesperson Prem Mittal.
Mittal also warned the police that the businessmen of the State capital will be forced to come out on the streets and protest against the police if the culprit is not arrested soon. Raising a question mark over the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, Mittal said that the people of state are feeling insecure during the ruling Hemant Soren Government.
Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), putting a question mark on the activeness of police force in the state, has said that the situation of crime in the state may deteriorate further if the culprits do not get arrested soon. FJCCI General Secretary Pawan Sharma releasing a press release has requested the police officials to immediately arrest the culprits or the business fraternity of the State will forced to protest against the law and order situation in the state.
Member’s of FJCCI, writing a letter to Chief Ministers Hemant Soren, Chief Secretary Sudheer Kumar and state DGP Rajiv Kumar has said that the situation of law and order situation in the state has deteriorated in the last few days.
