To mark completion of a year of Narendra Modi Government at the Center on May 26, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe Social Welfare Day in Jharkhand at the division level. Talking to mediapersons on Thursday, State BJP president Ravindra Rai said that the party under this campaign will organise street shows, general meetings and also publicise the achievements made by Narendra Modi Government through hoardings and public conferences on May 26, 27, and 28 across the State.
“We will try to bring our agenda and welfare programmes among the masses which are being run for the farmers, destitute persons as well as the backward classes,” said Rai. Besides, people will also be made aware about the prestige which has been re-gained by this Government, he added.
“The glory which has been re-gained by this government by establishing cordial relations with the neighboring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri lanka, China, Japan as well as other Countries like America will be brought to public,” Rai said.
Meanwhile, after achieving the target of becoming the world’s largest political party through its ambitious membership drive, BJP on Thursday launched ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyaan’ in Jharkhand under which the newly inducted members will be converted into active workers to increase party’s mass base. Under this drive, the party will also try to publicise its agenda and policies among the masses.
“This is an initiative to induct the newly formed members to adopt the party by heart and become an active worker so that the cadre base of the party gets a boost up,” he said. The campaign will go on till June 30.
Party insiders, however, claimed that efforts were on to carry out the membership drive in a scientific way making it more authentic and leaving no scope for any loopholes in it.
“After making new party members, workers will now start ‘Karyakarta Sampark Samwaad’ contacting those who have given missed call and have accepted the party membership asking them to make a missed call again on another toll free number to authenticate that they have accepting that they have become the party workers,” said a party official.
The Karyakarty Sampark Samvaad has already been started in Delhi and will now be conducted in the states, he said. The workers under this drive will also inform them about policies and progammes of the party making them aware about the party activities, he added.
The BJP, which earlier had only 6.5 lakh members in the state has crossed the figure of over 45 lakh lagging behind only by few thousands in its target of 50 lakh.
In order to achieve the target it will continue the membership drive where people who could not be contacted this time will be inducted to the party through paper receipts instead of mobile phone or Internet.
