The State BJP will hold Kishan panchayats (farmers’ conference) at five administrative divisions on Tuesday (December15). Senior BJP leaders will address Kishan panchayats on Tuesday highlighting the features of farm laws at the same time ‘exposing opposition parties’ agitation against farm laws.
Senior BJP leader and Legislative Party Leader Babulal Marandi will address farmers from Santhal Pargana at Deoghar Stadium, Deoghar. At North Chottanagpur division the function will be held at Zila Parishad ground Dhanbad and it will be addressed by former State BJP president Ravindra K Rai. Former Chief Minister and party national vice president Raghubar Das will address the Kisan panchayats at Sukurhutu, Kanke addressing farmers from South Chottanagpur region. In Kolhan region union minister Arjun Munda will address farmers’ conference at town hall Saraikela, while former State president Dineshanand Goswami will address farmers’ conference at Shivajee Maidan Medninagar.
State BJP general secretary, Aditya Sahu while addressing media persons highlighting the features of the farm laws said, “Congress party has double standard on farm laws. The grand old party in its election manifesto has talked about the constitution of farm laws, but when the Centre makes farm laws the same party opposes it. It only indicates that the Congress party tries to misguide farmers on agriculture laws.”
Parliament has recently passed the three farm reform Laws — the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Law, the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Law and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Law.
Sahu claimed that the Congress party should first disassociate itself from its own 2019 poll manifesto that promised the same agricultural reforms as done by the Modi government.
Highlighting the features of farm laws, Sahu claimed that the farm laws aimed at making the annadata (farmers) self dependent and economically powerful. He said that the Modi government in the last six months has increased the agriculture budget by six times. More than 10.59 crore farmers are benefitted with PM Kishan Yojana and around Rs 99979 crore has been deposited in farmers account under the scheme. Moreover, 7.2 crore farmers have availed benefits under PM Fasal Bima yojana while by next fiscal 15 crore farmers have been targeted to get benefits under the scheme.
He said that under the new farm law, farmers are likely to get more revenue for their agriculture produce under the new market policy. The new laws will allow farmers to get paid for their produce in advance, help them move products which will fetch them better price and allow them to sell their produce outside agriculture ‘mandis’ without paying any taxes, he said.
