The committee will also include the constitution of district presidents, heads of different morchas and manch, prakostha.

A senior BJP leader requesting anonymity said, “The party’s new committee will be constituted soon. But at the same time there will be no major changes in the committee as most of the old committee members will be retained.” The BJP leader, however, said that though there will be no major change in working committee but by going through the last Assembly election results many district presidents will be replaced. The district presidents of those parliamentary and assembly segments where BJP performed poorly will be replaced.

The BJP leader said, “On appointment of district presidents some of factors such as regional aspirations and caste combinations will be carried out. No two neighbouring district will have district presidents of same castes.” Also there is talk of giving more representations to members from SC and ST communities in new committee and district presidents.

Sources said that despite delay in constitution of new committee and district presidents, unlike other parties BJP has mobilized its entire team to reach out to people helping them during lockdown. State BJP media in-charge Shiv Pujan Pathak said,

“The Jharkhand BJP has formed two committees to serve food and provide medical aid to migrant workers who are coming back to the state by road after the Centre relaxed lockdown norms to facilitate their return.”

Party’s Lok Sabha member Annapurna Devi has been appointed as convenor of the ‘Quarantine Centre Relief Committee’ while another party MP P N Singh has been appointed as convenor of the ‘Highway Relief Team'. Around 216990 and 52364 food packets have been distributed to needy in Highway Relief Team' and Quarantine Centre Relief Committee’ respectively.

Pathak said, “The migrant workers are facing double trouble - saving themselves from the infection and being compelled to come back home due to financial distress and family responsibilities - the BJP will assist them on the national highways in this time of distress.”
