The BJP’s (Bhartiya Janata Party) effort to ease communal tension at Giridih was today stonewalled by the district police who not only stopped the five member delegation sent by the party to work towards peace in the region but also threatened the visiting delegation of putting them behind bars.
The BJP’s delegation included Ranchi MlA and former Speaker of Jharkhand Assembly, C P Singh; Yadunath Pandey, BJP Spokesperson Kamal Khan and senior leader Ajay Maroo. The delegation was sent after a scuffle that broke out between police and villagers on the occasion of Ramnavmi at Tetaria-Saledih at Giridih. The incident reportedly left around two villagers injured besides few policemen who were injured when the irate mob retaliated.
