BJP targets former CM Soren in toppers scam, transfer posting

After scams in land, minerals and liquor, now the state's main opposition party BJP has opened a front against the Jharkhand government after the issue of toppers scam has come to light.

State BJP spokesperson Kunal Sarangi said in a press conference here on Thursday that on the same day when former Chief Minister Hemant Soren had mysteriously disappeared from his residence for 40 hours before the arrival of ED officials, he cancelled the freezing of 8.46 acres of controversial land from the Revenue Department. Along with this, now after the toppers scam has come to light, there is an atmosphere of disappointment and anger among lakhs of youth.

Sarangi said that the ED, which is investigating the land scam, has directly linked it to the question paper leak in the JSSC CGL examination held recently in the state in the 539-page WhatsApp chats submitted in the court. Involvement of the Chief Minister's Office has been found. In this 539-page report, it is clear from the former Chief Minister's chat about selling seats with various brokers and sharing of admit cards that the question paper leak of the JSSC CGL exam has been brought to the notice of government protection and Chief Minister's office.

It is said in the chat that students will be selected on the basis of their admit card only. Even before this, information regarding the selection of children of officers associated with the Chief Minister's Office in JSSC had come to light. On similar lines, an attempt has been made to commit irregularities in JSSC CGL also.

Sarangi said that after the issue of question paper leak came to light, an attempt is being made to run away from its responsibility by making the agency conducting the examination a scapegoat and covering up the involvement of the Chief Minister's Office.

Sarangi while raising questions point by point said that after this matter came to light, some questions are rising in everyone's mind, including:

1. Why is it mandatory to make any police service officer the chairman of JSSC?

2. Why were the students who were protesting against the question paper leak and who had been preparing for years sued? At the same time, why was a case not registered against the Chairman of JSSC?

3. Why was that agency allowed to conduct the examination by JSSC even after the news of the agency being blacklisted by its own personnel department?

4. Why is the level of questions asked lower than the questions asked by Department IV? Low perhaps also because when the question paper gets leaked then the middlemen and brokers can find out the answer as soon as possible and give it to their students?

5. Why is the general category student who scored 80 marks selected as Lab Technician and posted in his hometown and the student who scored 130 marks not selected?

6. Why skip 9th, 10th and 11th JPSC and go straight to 12th JPSC exam on 17th March at the time of elections? ED has indicated that there are strings of scam. Why is the gap between exam notification and exam only 35 days instead of 120 days?

7. Why is the question paper leak case investigated hurriedly only by one's own police officer of DSP rank?

Along with all the above-mentioned questions, selecting its students by conducting preliminary and main examinations together directly indicates a serious allegation of corruption in the Chief Minister's Office.

Sarangi  said that this matter should be investigated by CBI due to which lakhs of youth of the state considered Hemant Soren as a youth and handed over the reins of the state to him and he cheated the youth and continuously attacked their interests.

Media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak and co-media-in-charge Ashok Badaik were also present in the press conference.
