BJP slams Cong manifesto, calls it full with dangerous ideas

The State BJP has attacked Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the parties that are allies of Congress lead Mahagathbandhan for making stoic silence in Congress manifesto released in Delhi on Tuesday. The Congress manifesto promises to do away with British-era sedition law. The BJP termed that the Congress manifesto is anti-national and it will encourage anti-national forces in country.

State BJP General Secretary, Deepak Prakash said, “The Congress manifesto is full with dangerous ideas that could lead to breaking the country. It is ironical that Congress Mahagathbandhan partners, JMM, JVM and RJD despite knowing that the manifesto is full with ideas, which can encourage anti-national forces they have kept mum on the manifesto.” In the manifesto, the party has promised to omit the Indian Penal Code section 124A, which defines the offence of sedition claiming that it has been misused.

In the recent times, JNU students’ union former president Kanhaiya Kumar and other student activists like Omar Khalid were arrested and jailed on charges of sedition that triggered nationwide protest by Left and was supported by even Congress. Also, Patidar agitation leader and now Congress member, Hardik Patel too was booked under the sedition law during the Patidar movement.

Prakash along with BJP vice president, Aditya Sahu, BJP state spokesperson JB Tubid and Prem Mittal said, “The Congress manifesto, which talks about removing sedition law is more dangerous in State’s context as it will encourage Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and anti-national activities in State.”

The BJP leader targeted the Congress by accusing the Opposition party of supporting ‘Urban Naxals’ who had ruined the lives of poor tribals. Last year Pune police conducted raids at different parts of country arresting five ‘Urban Naxals’. The BJP leader claimed that these ‘Urban Naxals’ where hatching a conspiracy against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prakash also claimed that BJP was in favour of scrapping Article 35A the provision, which incorporated in the Constitution giving the Jammu and Kashmir legislature a power giving special power to permanent residents of the State.  Prakash said, “The Article 35 A was created by Congress and it is main reason behind the Kashmir issue.”

The BJP leader claimed that BJP poll plank is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikash, while the Congress banks on dividing the country. The BJP leader also highlighted the various development schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi such as Ujjwala Yojana, housing to all, toilets, Ayushman Yojana and others.
