State BJP has urged the government to initiate measures for holding the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) exercise in Jharkhand while stating that three districts of Santhal Paragana Division as well as other areas are affected by infiltration by Bangladeshi refugees.
The resolution was passed in the State working committee held here on Saturday in which top leaders including Chief Minister Raghubar Das, State BJP President Laxman Gilua, former CM Arjun Munda, MPs and ministers took part.
Informing the media person about the meeting, MP Sunil Singh said that party want “Three Ds (detect, delete and deport) action” against the infiltrators. He asserted said after detection of refuges their facilities including names in the voter’s list must be deleted adding that they should be then sent back to the neighbouring country.
Singh stated that State government has already taken up the issue seriously and written to the Centre in this regard. He added that party wants to incorporate the minorities including Hindus and Sikhs migrating from Bangledesh to India as citizens of the country.
Singh said the working committee has also condemned the urban naxals and urged the government to take strict action on the issue. He informed the members were of the view that urban naxals were training people against the state, acting as communication link between people holding their views and also helping anti-state forces.
He said the members criticized the opposition parties including the congress and the left parties of supporting the five persons arrested recently from different parts of the country for their alleged links with the naxals. The BJP asked the opposition to make their stands clear cut on the issue.
He added that the meeting also talked on BJP slogan ‘Ajey Bharat and Atal BJP’ that aims to make India leading country of the world and also ensure that BJP sticks to its principles.
He said that BJP would soon come out with a work plan on strengthening its booth management.
“It is an essential part of the BJP working system. We want to intensify the works further. A discussion was also held on the issue during the review meeting on each Lok Sabha seat on Friday,” he said.
Asked on party stand on rising fuel prices he said that the issue was a matter of concern for all. He said that they were trying to find a path in close coordination with the government. He added that revenue earned by the State government as taxes on fuel have been spent on the large number of welfare works undertaken for the citizens.
The party members also paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and resolved to follow his path to turn Jharkhand into a model State.
