BJP remembers Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary

Leaders and workers of Jharkhand BJP paid tributes to former Prime Minister and party patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 97th birthday.

The party also organised a programme to commemorate his birth anniversary as ‘good governance day’.

Speaking at the programme Jharkhand BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was among the few statesmen of the country who ruled the heart of the people rather than the country.

Prakash said that the nation would remain indebted to him for pioneering efforts to uplift the poor who radically changed the concept of governance by bringing transparency and accountability in the administration.

The BJP said that while the Congress used poverty for its own politics it was Vajpayee who gave a sense of pride and dignity to the poor. Prakash said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi carried forward the concept of the good governance of Vajpayee.

The party said that Vajpayee as Prime Minister and statesman stood for ethics and morality in politics which made him a legend during his lifetime.

Former state president and MP Yadunath Pandey said that Vajpayee led the foundation stone of many infrastructural changes in the country like rural roads and the concept of river linkage.  Vajpayee had pioneered a major educational reform by introducing 'Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan' to ensure education for all. Leaders also remembered and expressed gratitude towards Vajpayee for forming Jharkhand. Other leaders also paid tribute in their own way.

The former chief minister and senior BJP leader Bbaulal Marandi said that Jharkhand was the biggest gift Vajpayee gave to people.

Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth on this occasion distributed blankets and food among people. In districts, BJP workers organised prayers at several other programmes.
