BJP rejects rigging reports in organisational polls

The State Bhartiya Janta Party on Wednesday denied reports of rigging and favouritism in organisational elections and asserted that the elections to the various post in districts offices were conducted in a transparent manner. The party asked people dissatisfied with the election process to refrain from washing dirty linen in public.

Organisational elections in 17 districts have been completed however the election committee had to face uncomfortable charges of favouring high and mighty within the party besides overlooking the party constitution while organising polls for various posts.

“Elections have been organised with maximum degree of transparency and the central leadership has been updated from time to time with election report. There is a committee in the State and people must put their grievances before the committee which is the right forum,” said state Spokesperson, Pradeep Sinha.

The election committee headed by Dhanbad MlA, Raj Sinha, has been charged with overlooking party constitution, organising polls without officials in places and reported hooliganism at few places on the day of election.

“Elections were affected in Garhwa and Chaibasa. We have sent a two member team to the two districts to conduct inquiry. We have sent reports of districts where elections have been conducted and where elections would be conducted in later phase,” added Sinha.

Meanwhile, the party has to complete election formalities in nine districts and the stage is now set for the visit for an observer who will be sent by the central leadership to begin the process of election for the State president. Notably, election in half of the districts must be completed before election process for the post of state president can begin.

“We have informed the central leadership that election in more than half of the total district has been completed. Now it is up to them to appoint observer for state president election. We have not heard anything from them,” maintained the Spokesperson.

According to sources, the election committee had sent the letter around five days back and the observer is likely to be appointed in next 2-3 days.
