BJP raises poor law and order issue in State

Published on:

The State BJP unit has once again raised the issue of deteriorating law and order situation in State after scores of criminal incidents including alleged murder of Dhanbad ADJ Uttam Anand and Ranchi based lawyer Manoj Jha rocking Jharkhand.

State BJP president Deepak Prakash today addressing media persons said that the law and order situation has collapsed in State. Highlighting the crime incidents during JMM/Congress regime, he said that during the nineteen months tenure of JMM/Congress government, the people of State are scared as during this period 2978 murders incident, 2711 rapes, 2400 kidnappings, 538 Naxal incidents, 1226 robberies, witch-killing of 41 people have occurred in State. Altogether more than ten thousand serious cases have been registered which shows the failures of State Government. Around five people are being murdered, raped and kidnapped every day.

The BJP state president said that due to deteriorating law and order in the state, farmers issue, rights of youth will hit the road from August 20, to protest against the state government failure. The BJP president said that the BJP will not sit silent till the corrupt, ineffective and anti-development government is not overthrown. “No matter how many FIRs the government registers against party workers, we are not afraid,” said Prakash. The press conference was also attended by BJP general secretary Aditya Sahu and BJP media in charge Shivpujan Pathak.

The BJP president also demanded CBI investigation in the Roopa Tirkey case.  Prakash said that state government had to bow before the demand of the BJP and the sentiments of the people of Jharkhand recommending a CBI probe in the ‘murder’ of Judge Uttam Anand. The Supreme Court's remarks after the alleged murder of Uttam Anand expose the poor law and order situation of State Government. He said that the state's policy of not ordering a CBI inquiry into the suspected murder of the Roopa Tirkey has made it clear that there something fishy in the case.

Sub Inspector Roopa Tirkey, in-charge of Women’s Police Station, had committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope in her official residence on May 03, 2021 in Sahibganj.

The case was highly politicised as the family members of the deceased SI had alleged foul play and had stated that it was not a suicide but a murder. However, police investigation in the case made it clear that it was a suicide.

On the disruption of the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha by UPA coalition parties including Congress, Prakash said that the opposition parties including Congress do not have faith in the democratic system. He said that opposition parties are running away from the questions of the people by disrupting the Question Hour and Zero Hour in Parliament.
