BJP state spokesperson Kunal Sarangi today raised questions on appointment letters distributed by the Chief Minister, saying what happened to the Khatian based planning policy of JMM, Local Planning Policy, 1932. The BJP leader questioned that the State government should tell the public why the illusion of Khatian based planning policy was shown to the unemployed for four and a half years.
He said that the state government should tell on the basis of which planning policy these appointments have been made.
The Hemant Soren government, during a special session on November 11, 2022, had passed the ‘Jharkhand definition of local persons and for extending the consequential, social, cultural, and other benefits to such local persons Bill, 2022’, also known as the 1932 Khatiyan Bill. As per Kahtian based policy locals were to get preference in Class III and VI jobs,
Sarangi said that the appointment letters distributed today have also been conducted by the same agency which has recently canceled the JSCC examinations due to corruption being exposed, and against which the unemployed have demanded a CBI investigation and registration of a case. He said that how can one test result of a tainted agency be right and the other wrong. All the examinations of this agency will be involved in corruption.
The JSSC CGL examination was held on January 28, but its question paper was leaked ahead of the examination. Ranchi Police had arrested three people, including an undersecretary of the Jharkhand assembly, in connection with the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) paper leak case.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Ranchi Police, which is investigating the JSSC paper leak, recovered blank cheques, dozens of admit cards and mobile phones from the premises of Mohammad Shamim, the state assembly's undersecretary. He said that today's appointment letter is a bundle of corruption and hence it should also be investigated.
