In order to set an example before the common residents of the State, the legislators of the ruling BJP have been told to switch to the cashless mode of transition first and then go before the masses propagating about this. Mobile wallets such as ‘Chillr’ would come handy to them in this endeavour.
The MlAs of the party in a legislative body meeting called at the residence of Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday were given first hand training about using the mobile App. Senior officials from Bank of India were called there to make the members familiar with ‘Chillr’, which can be used for instant money transfers and making smaller purchases.
“We have been trained by the bank officials about how to download the mobile App on our mobile phones and also how to use it. We would now go to our areas and promote people for using it more and more. In a sense, the MlAs would become a brand ambassador for the cashless drive going on across the State,” said BJP legislator and chief whip Radha Krishna Kishore.
This apart, all the MlAs were handed over the two-page format in order to provide their cash transaction details after the demonetisation announcement made on November 8. The members would have furnish details about the banned currencies deposited and exchanged by them with the banks during the period and submit it to the Chief Minister in a sealed envelop. “The task has to be completed by December 30. The sealed envelopes would be sent to party national president Amit Shah subsequently,” added Kishore.
At the same time, the legislative body meeting also saw tasks being handed over to the legislators ahead of the completion of two years of the BJP-led Government at the helm.
“The Government is completing its two years on December 28 which would be celebrated in a big way. Programmes at district headquarters and blocks would be organised by the MlAs. All the Ministers in-charge would hold Aam Sabhas in their respective districts. Also, all the party MlAs would hold minimum one such programme in at least one block of his or her constituency. The MlA sharing boundary with the constituency which is not represented by the BJP would be responsible to do a programme there,” said BJP legislator from Gumla Shiv Shankar Oraon.
The members starting from December 23 to 27 would have to conduct the programme at their allotted area where prime focus would be on the achievements of the Government as well as their own in their respective constituencies.
“This is a kind of report card presentation that has to be laid before the public. Steps taken to mitigate poverty, generating more farm income and other welfare measures would be highlighted so that the people can know about the programmes and policies of the Government,” said Kishore.
