BJP MlA Phoolchand Mandal attracted unwarranted ire of his colleagues and huge embarrassment for CM Raghubar Das as he called Das a non-Jharkhandi.
However, the ruling party MlAs realised that it was a slip of tongue and Mandal could not properly say what he actually wanted to.
While raising the issue of domicile policy, Mandal said that former CM Hemant Soren, despite being original Jharkhandi, ruled for 14 months as Chief Minister but he could not ensure making a domicile policy.
“In 14 months your tribal Jharkhandi CM could not make a domicile policy. Raghubar Jee is from Chhattis garh….even then…” Mandal’s voice was lost in the chaos as Speaker adjourned the House till 2 pm.
later speaking to media persons, Mandal said that he was not given an opportunity to pour his heart out inside the House. “I meant that when Jharkhandi CM (Hemant Soren) could not make domicile policy then what’s the point raising fingers at Raghubar Das Jee, who actually has his ‘base’ in Chhattisgarh. Our CM is trying his best to reach a consensus on the issue but they (the Opposition) are not letting him do his work,” the MlA said.
