Death of eight persons, including a BJP leader, was reported in Dhanbad – the highest in a day since the pandemic hit Jharkhand.
While seven deaths were reported in information released by district administration , the BJP leader PN Mondal of Barwaada died while treatment at Durgapur.
However, amidst deaths in last three days 320 persons undergoing treatment at different Covid hospitals were released for home quarantine after they were found negative .
The seven deaths were reported from urban localities including Hirapur,Manaitand and Shastrinagar localities.
In another move, district administration has decided to increase the number of oxygen cylinders at government hospitals and magistrates have been deployed to monitor the oxygen cylinders and availability of oxygen in hospitals here in Dhanbad.
