The upbeat BJP formally launched the campaign for the Assembly elections on Friday deploying three Central Ministers alongwith senior party leaders from the State in the constituencies which go to the polls in the first phase on November 25.
While Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad alongwith former Chief Minister Arjun Munda campaigned in Gumla, Mahuadand and Bishunpur, Union Minister of State for Coal Piyush Goyal sought votes for the party nominees in Chatra and Hussainabad and junior Finance Minister Jayant Sinha alongwith Raghubar Das in Garhwa.
BJP chief Amit Shah alongwith Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the campaign for two days - November 15 and 16.
Speaking to reporters here, Prasad reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment towards developing eastern India, including Jharkhand, and added that positive vibes towards BJP could easily be felt in the State.
"I can see a sign of change for good governance and stability among the people of Jharkhand which also gives strength to our confidence of attaining 2/3rd majority for the BJP," said Prasad.
Union Minister of State for Coal Piyush Goyal and MoS for Rural Development Sudharshan Bhagat, BJP co-election in-charge Bhupendra Yadav as well as former Chief Minister Arjun Munda were also present at the press meet at the BJP headquarters.
Counting on the number of initiatives like electronic cluster in Jamshedpur, Incubation Centre for Software Park as well as IIIT centre in the State, taken by his ministry, Prasad said that Jharkhand needs a stable Government to make these projects come on ground.
Referring to the increase in the consumption of capital goods by 11 per cent in the last five months, he said that the country is on the right path. "Increase in the consumption of capital goods, that is heavy machinery, means the country is actually growing," said Prasad.
The Minister further added that former Chief Minister Arjun Munda tried his best to make Jharkhand an IT-enabled State but due to the compulsions of coalition politics he could not do it.
"I have gone through the papers after becoming Minister and seen what he did in the field of IT. I doubt that there was a vested interest of both the Congress and JMM which did not give way to a stable Government in the State," added Prasad.
Goyal said Jharkhand, a 'Gangotri' (origin) of electricity for the country itself, remained devoid of it for several decades. "Our goal is to provide 24-hour supply to each household in the State and arrange separate supply lines for the farmers of the State," he said.
Sharing his experiences during campaigning in Jharkhand, Goyal also asserted that the people of Jharkhand are desperate to change their conditions giving way to a majority Government in the State.
He also promised that a BJP Government will make Modi's dream of 'Make in India' a success along with the development of the State and expressed confidence to get support of the people here in Jharkhand during the coming elections.
