The State headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was submerged in celebration after senior party leader and Jamshedpur MlA Raghubar Das was sworn in as the 10th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. BJP workers laid siege at the office occupying every inch of the office since morning waiting to greet the CM and other Ministers who were administered oath of office and secrecy.

The moment appeared to be the one which the party workers were waiting from a long time and entire office turned euphoric as soon as Das took the oath as the new CM of Jharkhand. Wishing and shaking hands with each other—the jubilant crowd at the party headquarters indicated as if the day marks the beginning of ‘achey din’ in Jharkhand.

“We have been out of the Government for quite sometime and that has affected development of the State. It’s a beginning of good days for Jharkhand and we will see the State progressing like never before,” said spokesperson of the BJP minority cell,  Tariq Imran.

The saffron party workers holding marigold garland in their hands waited for the CM outside the party office until 1pm when the cavalcade arrived there sending the mob in frenzy. People were jostling to get a glimpse of Das with some even succumbing to the excitement building up since morning and making a brave attempt to break the security ring to garland the CM. Happiness went through the roof as the CM started brief interaction with the enthusiastic supporters waiting in queue outside a small room at party office.

The happiness was not just the joy of senior party-man becoming CM of Jharkhand, a BJP-led Government in Jharkhand with popular leaders at the helm of affairs also brought smiles on the face of an average worker. Other newly inducted members of the State Government—CP Singh and BJP legislator from Dumka louis Marandi-- were also extended a warm welcome at the party office. Both the leaders on the occasion expressed the resolve of the incumbent Government to take the State on the path of development.

“We have to work for the development of 3.25-crore people of Jharkhand. Now we have a challenge to develop this State and make it stand among the most developed States of the country,” said Minister CP Singh.

Fervent supporters of the party were engaged in discussion about what next is likely to follow after the coronation ceremony. Every nook and cranny was abuzz with changes in the offing due to change in the guard.

The new CM was greeted amid the beats of traditional drums and slogans by few supporters at the residence. At his residence also the CM was greeted by party workers and supporters.  Das’ family members welcomed him in traditional style as he was flanked by a huge group of people outside his house trying to get an opportunity to have a glimpse of the new CM.
