The State BJP unit on Tuesday hit out at reinstated Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his comment, justifying the ‘Neech’ slur he had used for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for which he was suspended by his party two years ago.

Aiyar, in his article published at Rising Kashmir and latter republished in The Print, the Congress leader has justified his 2017 ‘Neech Aadmi’ comment against Prime Minister Modi saying that his remark was prophetic.

State BJP spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said, “The comment of Congress leader is not his personnel remark, but the remark has given by Congress High Command. The remark once again re-established the fact that Congress’ working style is not going to change.” Shahdeo said, on earlier occasions too Aiyar had apologised for his remark, which he gave during Gujarat elections, the Congress leadership taking cognizance on Aiyar’s remark had even suspended him for two years, but later he was re-inducted in party fold.

“Aiyar’s remark displays the right picture of Congress, which is full with hatred and arrogance,” says Shahdeo.

The BJP leader claimed that dynastic politics is like venom. “Some Congress leaders, who are sycophant are giving such remarks. For them leaving aside a particular family, all the poor people are ‘Neech’.

The Gandhi family and his sycophant aides are still to digest that a man coming from humble background has become the Prime Minister of the country,” he said.

Justifying his remark against Narendra Modi, Mani Shankar Aiyar cited comments made by the Prime Minister in election rallies and interviews on Rajiv Gandhi, Balakot air strikes.

Aiyar in the article published at Rising Kashmir had even questioned on educational qualification of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Congress leader has also referred to Jawaharlal Nehru's education and attacking PM Modi for ‘stunningly illiterate claims’, most recently his comment that ‘clouds would help Indian jets escape Pakistani radars’ during the Balakot air strike.

Hours after Congress leader’s remark become viral, PM Modi attacked Congress for Aiyar’s remark. Addressing an election rally today, he said, “These Mahamilawati people, Congress, BSP and SP all are abusing me. Not a single day has passed when they have not abused me.”

Shahdeo also attacked JMM leader and former chief minister Hemant Soren’s remark where he had called Chief Minister as ‘Murkhmantri’. Soren in his twitter targeting Raghubar Das had termed him as ‘Murkhmantri’. Shahdeo said, “Going through the twitter remark of Hemant Soren it appears that he is taking about his tenure when he was Chief Minister of State.”

Shahdeo said, “The JMM leadership should not forget their days when JMM MLAs even hurled shoes before Speaker’s chair.”
