The state BJP on Sunday slammed the state government on rising atrocities against Dalits saying that there has been a spike in cases of hunger deaths in State and demanding judicial probe over it.
BJP SC Morcha state president and former Minister Amar Kumar Bauri raising the alleged hunger death case of Bhukhal Ghasi said that in last six months, two other members of Ghasi family have died under mysterious circumstances.
Bauri demanding a judicial probe over it said, “Atrocities against members of scheduled caste is cause for concern. After the alleged hunger death of Bhukhal Ghasi his son and daughter too have died under mysterious circumstances.”
Bauri said that Bhukhal Ghasi allegedly died due to hunger in Kasmar block of Bokaro district on March 6 and despite the matter being raised in the previous Assembly session no action was being taken, moreover his family members are being pressurized by the officials to attribute Ghasi’s death to some disease.
Bauri the BJP MLA from Chandankiyari said that the matter became more serious as in order to prevent further criticism over the matter during the monsoon session, the family members of Ghasi have been kept at the Bokaro circuit house as guests or may be they been hijacked by officials.
The BJP leader claimed that Ghasi family case is not isolated case, but hunger deaths have been reported from Latehar, Ramgarh, Garhwa, Deoghar and other districts too.
In Bauri’s line of fire was also Ranchi district administration for not allowing the BJP SC Morcha to staged a demonstration against rising Dalit atrocities cases.
He said, “The Ranchi district administration is adopting double standards on coronavirus restrictions. Congress party and its leaders were granted permission to hold agitations but the SC Morcha was denied permission on the pretext of section 144 imposed in the area to contain the pandemic.”
