There is just one day left for Lok Sabha elections results, but the ruling NDA partners are euphoric with exit polls predication, which is giving them thumping victory and have started preparations for grand victory.
BJP candidates after the election results are busy visiting their Lok Sabha constituencies thanking the voters who have reposed faith on them. BJP candidate from Ranchi Sanjay Seth, who is pitted against Congress’ heavy weight Subodh Kant Sahay is visiting respective areas expressing his gratitude to the people who have supported him. Seth said, “Today I visited Ormanjhi and Sikidiri areas meeting people and expressing my gratitude to people who have reposed faith on me.” Seth on Sunday had visited Silli area of the Ranchi constituency.
Ormanjhi, Sikidiri and Silli are Mahto dominated areas and are considered bastion of Ranchi sitting MP Ram Tahal Choudhary. Choudhary after being denied ticket from BJP due to age factor had contested the election as independent candidate.
Seth claimed that people irrespective of their caste, religion have supported him in the name of Narendra Modi.
BJP candidate from Khunti and former chief minister Arjun Munda who is contesting his toughest election battle is too hopeful of his victory but has kept the fingers closed for any type of celebrations at this moment. A close confidante of Arjun Munda said, “As the battle of Khunti is tough. We have not planned any celebration and are waiting for May 23 results.”
“After the completion of election on May 19, we have started preparations for results. On Monday and Tuesday, Munda Ji and his supporters were busy in selection of poll agents who will be on the counting centre on result day,” added the leader close to Munda. Munda is pitted against Congress Kali Charan Munda.
Sources said that the party till now has not planned any victory celebration as the party is waiting for May 23 results. All candidates have been asked to camp in their respective constituencies till counting is completed.
A BJP leader requesting anonymity said, “We are sure to win more than 10 seats in State including Ranchi seat. There are hundred sweets shops in the State Capital, sweets can be ordered any time once the trend started coming favourable for party.”
The exit polls on television channels have projected BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to retain power at the Centre with most of the pollsters giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi a clear majority again in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
If the exit polls turn out to be a reality, then this will be the first time in the history of BJP when it gets a consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha elections after completing five years. The CNN News 18-IPSOS exit poll has given the BJP and its allies the highest number of 336 seats with the saffron party on its own getting 276 seats, four more than it won in the 2014 elections. The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is projected to get 82 seats including 46 of the Congress, two more than the party won in the last elections.
