The State BJP has dared Opposition parties that if they prove through legal and Constitutional provisions in written that the amendments of the land Acquisition Act 2013 would help private industries in the State, the State BJP unit will request the government to reconsider its decision on the legislation.
Addressing media persons in a press conference at the State BJP headquarters here on Thursday State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that if the Opposition party leaders could not prove the negativities of the legislation they will have to apologise publically at Albert Ekka Chowk from the people of the State. Ranchi Mahanagar president Manoj Mishra and district president Randheer Chaudhary were also present on the occasion.
Shahdeo alleged that the Opposition does not want completion of pending development projects in the State and therefore it was opposing the land Acquisition Act amendments.
“The State average in irrigation was much below than the national average. Work on expansion and broadening of rural roads and national highways is also going on war footing. For extension of schools we need land. And, for all these purposes some land might be taken from Raiyyats and this work will develop the whole area,” he said.
“However, the Opposition wants to keep the local people as vote banks only and that’s why it is protesting against the changes. When the land acquisition clause was made in the land Acquisition Act 2013 there was UPA government at the Centre and JMM led government in Jharkhand. In the private sector the provision of social assessment is still there,” he added.
The BJP Spokesperson challenged the leader of Opposition to answer in ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ whether he had bought land violating the CNT-SPT Acts or not. He said that government does its duty but people sitting on high pedestals of the government must answer against allegations made against them in public life.
