BJP State spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Sunday said it is victory for the people of Jharkhand that JMM MLA Simon Marandi couldn’t organise kissing competition during late night fair in Pakur.
Shahdeo further said, “The BJP has clearly cautioned the JMM MLA that if he will organise kissing competition which is against the culture of Jharkhand then he will have to face dire consequence.” Informing the whole issue the BJP Spokesperson said, “Last year also Simon Marandi had organised the fair and maligned the image of the area at national level. Simon Marandi backtracked this year due to BJP’s caution, administrative pressure and anger of local people.”
He said, “If JMM leaders will try to organise such kind of competitions in future the BJP will not permit them. The leaders should understand that it is not Italy and Rome, it is Santhaal Paragana. There is no room for such kind of competition in the culture and civilization of Jharkhand.” Shahdeo condemned the JMM leaders’ thinking to organise such kind of competitions.
