BJP blames Opp for provoking tribals

Ruling BJP came down heavily against the combine Opposition led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) while charging the parties for misleading and wrongly provoking tribals of the State. The party went ahead blaming the parties for even pushing Jharkhand on the brink of poverty during their respective stays in power.

“Opposition parties including the JMM in the garb of the World Tribal Day are touring different parts of the State and creating a divide between tribal and moolvasis for petty politics. They are the same parties who when were in power either under Shibu Soren or Hemant Soren or under Congress backed Madhu Koda  pushed the State into poverty and looted the State in their own styles. Everyone is aware of how land grabbing continued and allowed over the period of time and now they are shedding crocodile tears among tribals and moolvasis to misguide them,” said State BJP spokesperson Deendayal Barnwal flanked with Pratul Sahadeo while addressing a press conference on Monday.

Talking about Patthalgadi, he said that BJP from very beginning was against poppy cultivation which was continuing behind the exercise. “Now the Opposition has been exposed in front of the people for its continuing support to Patthalgadi when even the locals are opposing the drive and denouncing it,” added Barnwal.

Sahadeo also took Archbishop Felix Toppo on target for expressing concern over action of investigating agencies probing activities of the Christian Missionaries functional in the State. “What is there to hide for himij The CID is probing 88 NGOs on the recommendations of the Union Home Ministry which is nodal agency to keep tab on the foreign funding coming to NGOs. The probe started by the agency after the Ministry gave directions to the State Government. In this scenario the statement of the Archbishop is baseless and uncalled for,” said he adding that the CID had written the NGOs before June 15 for making available all concerned documents.

He termed the agency’s issuing notices as part of the set judicial procedure and said no one should play any obstruction into that while suggesting everyone to cooperate with the probe agencies. The party on the occasion also paid tribute to former lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee who passed away on Monday due to heart attack.
